SAKNAFTA Services began its operations in 2007 and has continued to grow and expand its range of activities. In 2022, the company established its Drilling Division, marking a major milestone and a strong addition to its service portfolio.
The division started its operations with a 1500 HP rig working with Badr El Din Petroleum Company, followed in 2024 by the addition of a 2000 HP rig operating with Tanmia Petroleum Company, highlighting the company’s expansion in onshore drilling activities within Egypt.
In the same year, SAKNAFTA expanded internationally by signing a drilling contract with Turkish Petroleum in Turkey using a 1500 HP rig. The company further strengthened its regional presence in 2025 by adding a 750 HP rig operating under its Libya branch.
As part of its ongoing development plan, a new 1500 HP rig has been purchased from China and is currently in the shipping phase to Egypt, in preparation for its upcoming operations — supporting the company’s strategy for continuous growth and enhanced drilling capacity.
